I have always enjoyed visiting art galleries. I remember going to a few as a child, although my Mum was not at all keen on going to them, my Dad used to like going and he would spend a long time finding out about each picture and what he thought of them. I was not interested in all of them but he always tried to point out ones which he thought would be interesting to me. As I got older I became a fan of many artists and even had the opportunity to see a collection of Van Gogh paintings which was fantastic. I am now thinking of studying art at college and have a go at doing all sorts of pictures including a bit of oil paintings myself. I find it very satisfying and enjoyable even though I do not consider myself that brilliant at copying things when I am painting, I find that doing imaginative pieces is more my cup of tea. I do try to do all sorts of things though as I know that I will have to try everything if I study at college. I am actually concentrating on working on my weakest points at the moment as I want to increase my confidence before I start college and have to tackle this sort of project.
